Repeated spaces or tabs remain
The Whitespace Normalizer handles spacing and blank-line rules. It preserves ordinary nonempty-line boundaries; this page handles joining them.
TEXT TOOL · JOIN WRAPPED LINES
Join unwanted newlines in copied text. Keep blank-line paragraphs or make one continuous run, then inspect and copy the result.
JavaScript loads the line-joining controls. The guide and examples below remain readable.
Input or option changes clear this result until you join again. Downloads are UTF-8 text, with retained line endings represented by LF; no BOM is added.
For PDF text, make sure the copied words are in reading order. Line joining cannot recover text extracted from the wrong column.
Keep blank-line paragraphs for prose. Join all recognized breaks for a single text run. One space separates words; nothing joins fragments directly, and comma-and-space creates a simple list.
Check the joined/kept counts and warnings. Compare the result with your original. If you change the text or settings, join again before copying.
“Hello” + a newline + “world” becomes “Hello world”. Selecting nothing produces “Helloworld”; that is a different result, not a safer cleanup.

3 input boundaries = 1 joined + 2 retained
“Keep paragraphs” uses a blank-line convention, not a language model. A run containing at least two line breaks is kept; a blank line containing only ordinary spaces or tabs also qualifies. Longer blank-line runs remain longer instead of being collapsed.
A B C with a space separator. Each entire consecutive-break run gets one separator.| Input or option | Result / limit |
|---|---|
| CRLF, standalone CR, LF | CRLF is one boundary. Line endings normalize to LF before joining. Textareas already normalize pasted endings, so counts describe the current input, not the original file. |
| Space separator | Each joined break run becomes one U+0020. Existing spaces beside it are retained unless edge trim is selected; spacing may remain repeated. |
| Nothing separator | Removes each joined run without inserting text. Use for confirmed fragments such as AB
123 → AB123; it can merge real words. |
| Custom separator | Up to 64 code points. Real newlines and Unicode line separators are rejected. A literal backslash followed by n is ordinary separator text. |
| Edge trim, when selected | Removes only U+0020 spaces and U+0009 tabs at each normalized line edge. It does not trim NBSP, normalize words or collapse internal spacing. |
| Other markers | U+0085, U+000B, U+000C, U+2028 and U+2029 are left unchanged and reported. Literal \n text is not decoded. |
| Input limit | 10,000 code points, including breaks. Too-long input is rejected intact. Work on smaller selections; nothing is silently truncated. |

A visible PDF hyphen can become a real -, a Soft Hyphen U+00AD, or no stored character at all. Inspect the copied text before choosing a repair. Removing all dashes would also damage real compounds, negative numbers and identifiers.
Work on that fragment. Join without a separator if the letters belong together; then deliberately remove an unwanted U+00AD with the Invisible Character Remover. Verify the final word. The tool does not repair spelling.
The Whitespace Normalizer handles spacing and blank-line rules. It preserves ordinary nonempty-line boundaries; this page handles joining them.
Joining is the opposite task. Use the Instagram caption and bio spacer to prepare and inspect paragraph gaps.
The Invisible Character Checker identifies supported hidden code points and positions. A line-break count cannot identify every invisible character.
Use the Invisible Character Remover to select that type and make a separate cleaned copy. Meaningful joining, hyphenation and direction controls should not be removed blindly.
Choose Keep blank-line paragraphs and a space separator. Single CRLF, CR or LF boundaries are joined. Runs with at least two line breaks, including space/tab-only blank lines, stay separate. This convention cannot infer paragraphs from meaning.
Paste text you have already copied or extracted from a PDF. This tool joins its actual newlines. It does not upload or read PDFs, perform OCR, fix column order or restore missing words.
Use a space between normal words. Use nothing only when you have confirmed that the pieces belong together, such as AB and 123 forming AB123. Choosing nothing can accidentally merge two separate words.
A textarea can visually wrap a long line without storing a newline. Copying or downloading its value does not add those visual wraps. Other Unicode separators are preserved and reported separately.
No. Real hyphens and Soft Hyphen U+00AD are retained. Check them separately before deliberately removing a character type. Joining lines cannot decide how a hyphenated word was spelled.
The original text stays in the input. Change the options and join again. Editing invalidates the old result. If automatic copying is blocked, select and copy the readonly result using your device’s copy command.
The newline normalization follows the WHATWG Infra newline algorithm. Paragraph preservation is this tool’s explicitly stated blank-line convention. The HTML textarea value model explains why the browser may already have converted CRLF or CR to LF.
It proves the displayed input was transformed with your selected rules. It does not prove a PDF was extracted correctly, that a destination app will accept the text, or that its layout will look the same. Check the final saved value where you use it.
